TV favourite Vicky Pattison is said to be “distraught” about the backlash she has received over her upcoming Channel 4 show, Vicky Pattison: My Deepfake Sex Tape, a source claims.
The hard-hitting documentary explores the dark world of deepfake porn – the use of technology to create a fake explicit image or video – and its devastating effects.
But the former I’m A Celeb winner’s decision to leak her own digitally altered adult clip in the name of research was slammed by one porn abuse victim as “deeply disrespectful” and a “PR stunt”.
According to our source, Vicky, who married Ercan Ramadan last September, is heartbroken that she’s found herself under fire. They claim her intention was to raise awareness of what is a growing problem in today’s online-obsessed culture.
“Vicky is distraught about the response,” the source claimed. “She wants to be seen as a serious documentary reporter. She wanted this to be the beginning of her career in documentaries, following in the footsteps of Zara McDermott.”
They went on to say that the 37-year-old star is now questioning whether she made the right decision to explore such a topic as a way of shaking off her old, hard-partying image – as the reaction isn’t what she expected.
“She’s very upset and hurt that she’s been attacked over this documentary, when she was trying to do some good. She thought the response would be positive and she’d raise awareness, but she doesn’t feel like she’s been taken seriously. She’s trying to get rid of her old image, but is wondering if this was the wrong topic to go with.”
