At 41, reality star Jessica Alves says she is finally at peace with herself. It’s one of the reasons she won’t be going on another reality show anytime soon. “I find them very draining,” she says. Now, the Brazilian-British TV personality – who, prior to her transition, rose to fame as “The Human Ken Doll” – says she’s done with all that. But one of the things that TV brought her, which Jessica will always treasure, is her friendship with Katie Price, who she met seven years ago on Loose Women.
Jessica set tongues wagging earlier this month at the UK Glamour Awards, when she and Katie kissed in front of onlookers, although she swears it was just a “friendly kiss”. So, when Jessica spoke to new, we had to try to get to the bottom of their unconventional friendship.
Here, Jessica opens up on how reality TV has changed her life, the surgery and relationship tips she swaps with Katie and what the future holds for them both…
Hi, Jessica! We saw you with Katie Price at the UK Glamour Awards. Do the pair of you go way back?
Katie and I met seven years ago on Loose Women, when she was one of the panellists. I was a guest on the show for an interview and that day I was sitting next to her. We were talking about the thread lift – the treatment – and that she had got that done. She was very happy with the results. I said, “Well, I also had that done a while ago and I’m very happy with the results too.” We exchanged numbers and we have been friends ever since.
Does Katie secretly want to look like you?
