HOST WITH THE MOST
For most of us, living the life of an A-lister in the Hollywood Hills is nothing but a distant pipe dream. But for two lucky individuals, that’s all set to change thanks to none other than Gwyneth Paltrow.
Having made her acting debut back in 1989 in the TV film High, Gwyneth has enjoyed a long reign as a member of showbiz royalty. Now she’s opening the doors of her stunning Montecito home to give two ordinary folks a glimpse of what it’s like to live like the rich and famous.
Nestled deep in the Californian seaside haven, guests will be able to sleep over at the Oscar-winning actress’ lavish guesthouse, set on the grounds of her sprawling estate – and they may even bump into other famous faces during a morning stroll, with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Jennifer Aniston and Oprah Winfrey as some VINs (very important neighbours). But the best part of it all? The stay won’t cost a penny.
The 50-year-old has teamed up with Airbnb on a mission to combat loneliness by offering a free Goop-inspired stay at the “forever home” she purchased for $4.9 million (£3.8 million) back in 2016.
The purpose of the stay is to arrive as strangers but hopefully leave as friends. “Airbnb had the brilliant idea of doing something to make the world a little less lonely – that’s why I’m inviting you to come stay the night,” she explains.
