Known for their quick wit and uncensored honesty, Peter Crouch and Abbey Clancy have shown time and time again they’re as real and flawed as the rest of us.
After all, thanks to overcoming the tests of a 16-year relationship, a house full of kids and animals, and some public wobbles, is there anyone better to take on the role of the nation’s agony aunt and uncle? They even have the perfect name for their new podcast: The Therapy Crouch!
“I can give advice to fellas who are struggling with a lunatic wife,” former footballer Peter jokes. (Abbey says she’s just “territorial” – even if she did once stop talking to her husband for two days after discovering he had a secret crush on Gladiator star Jet).
“Not a lot of people know us for who we actually are,” explains Abbey, 37.
“They see things in the press and have misconceptions of us. We’ve got four kids, two cats and one dog [plus five ducklings and two orphaned lambs!], and we love each other, we’re still happy.
“Our relationship isn’t different to anyone else’s – we definitely have our highs and lows.”
Since finding fame on Britain’s Next Top Model in 2006, Abbey has become a much-loved media personality thanks to her honesty – especially about being a working mum to Sophia, 11, Liberty, seven, Johnny, five, and three-year-old Jack.
Peter, 42 – who retired from football in 2019 – has since embarked on a career in showbiz with That Peter Crouch Podcast, as well as punditry and hosting TV shows.
