Launched alongside its 14-inch sibling in January, the MacBook Pro 16-inch doesn’t so much reinvent what Apple’s laptops can do as refines it, making it slicker and quicker than ever, while retaining all the things about the Apple silicon era we love – incredible performance and battery life, wrapped in a sophisticated and elegant portable package.
Before we explore the performance of the MacBook Pro 16-inch, let’s look at the line-up in the round. As we’ve suggested, the 2023 MacBook Pro comes in two different sizes, but multiple configurations. Prices start at £2,149 for a MacBook Pro 14-inch with an Apple silicon M2 Pro (10-core CPU, 16-core GPU and 16-core Neural Engine), and also benefits from 16GB of unified memory, 512GB of solid-state storage, and topped off with a 14-inch Liquid Retina XDR display. Paying £2,699 gets you a step-up model with a 12-core CPU, 19-core GPU M2 Pro, plus 16GB of unified memory and a 512GB SSD. And £3,349 gets you a MacBook Pro 14-inch with an M2 Max chip (12-core CPU, 30-core GPU, 16-core Neural Engine), plus 32GB of unified memory and 1TB of storage.
