Sublime beauty can be found in sport. In the relentless pursuit of excellence, and in the quest to run faster, hit harder, jump higher and go farther. In all of these, an elegant beauty emerges when the mechanics of the human body is pushed to its limits. This is the thinking that went behind the RM 07-04 Automatic Sport, Richard Mille’s first sports timepiece dedicated to women.
To create the watch, the brand consulted with six of its female partner athletes: race car drivers Aurora Straus and Margot Laffite, snowboarder and alpine skier Ester Ledecká, heptathlete Nafi Thiam, golfer Nelly Korda and high jumper Yuliya Levchenko. Not merely on matters of style, but to ensure that a women’s sports timepiece by Richard Mille could truly hold up on the wrists of world-class, top-level athletes. The idea being, perhaps, that the qualifier of ‘sport’ ought to be taken seriously and literally.
