What a difference a few years makes! You could be forgiven for thinking that the Longines Spirit Zulu is an entirely new watch but we covered it on its debut in 2022, in issue #65. At launch, the watch was a hefty 42mm piece in steel but it is back in a more ergonomic form at 39mm, in lightweight titanium this time. Interestingly, despite the reduction in size, the movement here is the same calibre L844.4 so this iteration is also a "true" GMT watch. To reiterate, the movement has the same silicon balance spring and other components in radical materials that allow for antimagnetic resistance of up to one order of magnitude over ISO 764 standards.
