When an avid art collector who has worked at one of Chicago's top antiques shops begins to renovate her home and hires a designer for collaborative help, the teamwork is dynamic and the results are inspiring, as seen in this 1964 Colonial cottage home in Western Springs, Illinois.
"Inspiration is everywhere, now more than ever, and even with as much as we can see and pull from magazines and social media, I find there are certain projects that require professional help," homeowner Taylor says. She and her husband, Dan, purchased the home from Dan's brother and his wife. Taylor knew it needed some changes. "My ultimate wish and vision for the home was to make it feel collected and warm while also being a cozy and functional space for our growing family," she explains. They hired Laura Chappetto, principal designer and owner of Element Design Network, in part for her resources and expertise in textiles and textures. "I get such joy from my clients and their stories and loved every aspect of this project," Laura says.
