TELL US A BIT ABOUT YOURSELF.
I am Sarah of Sarah McKenna Ceramics; I have been making pottery for over 20 years in a 300-year-old grain store in Dundalk town centre. When I am not up to my elbows in clay, I love to spend my time outdoors with my family. We love camping and can be found in fields anywhere from a music festival to scout camps. I am a scout leader with ventures aged 15-18 years, so we get the opportunity to be quite adventurous. This summer, we will travel to the Netherlands for an international camp.
HOW LONG HAVE YOU LIVED IN DUNDALK?
I have lived in Dundalk all my life, apart from a few years studying ceramics in Scotland. I grew up on the Point Road in Dundalk and now live in the centre of town with my husband and two sons, we take full advantage of all the amenities within walking distance of our house. Everyone walks to school and work, and we can stroll to the local park, swim in the leisure centre, or catch a movie at the cinema all on foot.
HOW DOES DUNDALK COMPARE TO OTHER PLACES YOU HAVE VISITED?
I love to travel in Ireland and further afield, but I really do think Dundalk has a lot of untapped potential. We have the beautiful rolling hills of Cooley, some fantastic beaches on our doorstep, and a buzzing town full of cafés and nightlife.
IN YOUR OPINION, HOW HAS DUNDALK CHANGED OVER THE YEARS?
