Lo and behold, a new era in lip care—shiny glosses are back on the beauty aisle (along with a host of new subcategories), and they’re better than ever. Call them what you will: Lip oil, butter, balm, glaze, plumper, jelly, or treatments—the new-gen rebrand is far more sophisticated, comfortable, and aesthetically pleasing than the sticky, smudgy chapsticks of the past. According to Diipa Büller Khosla, founder of Inde Wild,

“The resurgence of lip gloss can be attributed to a mix of nostalgia, social media trends, and evolving formulations. ‘Clean girl’ and ‘glazed skin’ trends celebrate effortless, dewy beauty, and glossy lips fit right in. Consumers are looking for products that enhance their natural features with a fresh, healthy glow.
