In today's automotive landscape, a driver's technical know-how is being tested almost as much as the horsepower under the hood. With increasingly sophisticated technology in cars, it seems modern driving requires as much familiarity with digital interfaces as with the road itself. While moving AC controls, headlights, and even mirror adjustments to the infotainment certainly creates a sleek, button-free aesthetic, it also pushes drivers to navigate through screens for basic functions that once required a single button.
Gesture Control, for instance, lets drivers adjust volume or navigation by waving their hands. In theory, it's genius; in practice, a sneeze or misplaced gesture could crank up the music unintentionally. Tesla's yoke steering wheel-another 'futuristic' idea-aimed to replace the traditional wheel with a jet-inspired yoke has been widely criticised for making tight turns and parking maneuvers far more awkward than necessary. The setup looks sleek, but drivers may wish they had a user manual mid-turn.
