ANEES BAZMEE INTERVIEW

 enlighten india: An all-rounder you have given Bollywood industry more than 60 films. What do you enjoy the most, writing it, producing it or directing it?

Anees Bazmee: Initially I used to enjoy only writing. It's in my blood, my father was a poet,a writer. I've sat with him and other well-known writers too. I've read so many things, so I really enjoyed it, even now i love to write. According to me, writing is a work of isolation. You're sitting alone in a room, wherein a blank paper is infront of you. That blank paper gives you goosebumps all over the body, it's nothing less than a ghost. I have this one thing in me that before starting to write a film I feel I'll not be able to write it. I don't know why it happens, even after writing for 50 years, I have not been able to remove these feelings from myself. When I sat to write the movie Welcome, I had only one thought in my mind that I'll not be able to write it. So writing is a very difficult task for me. When you have to make a superhit film, there are few important things on which you have to focus on and according to me writing is one of the most important, for making a hit film. Without a good script you cannot make a superhit film. So writing, according to me is a very difficult and interesting task which requires lot of involvement. At my young age, whenever i had to write something i used to isolate myself but now i prefer to write in crowded places, with people surrounded by. Now I prefer the role of director more than a writer. Even when I'm a director now, the writer in me is still alive. Back then, i used to write my scripts alone, but now i sit with 2-3 other writers, we discuss it together which is actually fun and i really enjoy it. Also I've done writing in my upcoming movies, so still I'm writing. I'll keep writing till my last breath.
