Set pieces key to Silkmen’s charge

A FINE second-half display from Michael Clegg’s Macclesfield saw the Silkmen collect another three points in their promotion push.

Clegg hailed Macc’s success from set-pieces.

“We scored another goal from a set-piece this afternoon which is satisfying because we’ve been working really hard on them recently.

“When games are tight, like they will be from now until the end of the season, it might be something as little as that which gets you across the line.”

It took a while for the game to settle into a rhythm and it was a set piece that broke the deadlock in the 21st minute.
