ALTRINCHAM returned to winning ways with an emphatic victory over fellow play-off chasers Solihull Moors, who crashed to a third straight defeat, described as ‘embarrassing’ by boss Andy Whing.

Justin Amaluzor struck a goal in each half and Marcus Dackers scored on his debut as the Robins hit the goal trail.

Further strikes from Chris Conn-Clarke, Alex Newby and sub Regan Linney ensured the Robins bounced back in style from successive defeats.

“It’s a really good end to what has been a difficult week,” said assistant boss Neil Sorvel. “Our performances weren’t bad in the two defeats, but we need to get points. And I think it’s so important to beat teams around you, so today was particularly important.

“Our front four all scoring is great, and good goals as well. Hopefully we can take this result and regather some momentum going into a heavy schedule of games.”
