Give Beeb's overpaid nonentities red card

IN AN increasingly bleak world, a piece of unmitigated good news is exceedingly welcome and here it is: Gary Lineker is stepping down from Match Of The Day.

And not before time. Even people as uninterested in football as me have found it impossible to avoid this preposterous man's continual posturing: inflicting his views on us concerning matters he knows little about. He embodies the type of person who thinks that because they're famous, it gives them the right to preach to the rest of us (see elsewhere on this page); no it doesn't. Stick to what you're good at, which is talking about the offside rule else Lineker embodies something too: a totally average presenter who is awarded quite obscene sums of money that come from the taxpayer's purse.
