THIS Christmas could be the busiest ever on the roads, experts fear.
The AA says 23.7 million drivers are planning a trip on Friday, December 20 - more than any single day since the organisation began recording data in 2010.
In 2018, the current record of 19m people made journeys on Friday, December 21.
This year, Saturday, December 21, and Monday, December 23, are each expected to have 22.7m drivers on the road.
Likely congestion hotspots include the M60 near the Trafford Centre, Manchester, the M25 near Heathrow Airport and the M5/M6 interchange near Birmingham.
