THERE has been a certain symmetry to the Olympics in recent history Daley keeps becoming a hero.
He did it again yesterday by winning silver in the men's synchronised 10m platform event with partner Noah Williams.
It came on a Magic Monday as equestrian stars Ros Canter, Laura Collett and Tom McEwen landed Team GB's first gold of the Games by retaining the eventing team title.
Then mountain biker Tom Pidcock, who turns 24 today, overcame a puncture to claim Britain's second gold.
Diving great Daley, 30, mouthed the words "Daddy's won a medal" to his two children Robbie, six, and 18-month-old Phoenix - who were cheering him on in the crowd.
Daley made a heart sign and blew them a kiss as he took to the podium.
He later told how Robbie, draped in a Union flag, lobbed a cup at him after the medal presentation.
