Strictly star out amid rumours of Giovanni rift

AMANDA Abbington has quit Strictly Come Dancing for good, it was revealed last night.

The actress, who won over fans in the series' first four weeks, was rumoured to have struggled to cope with pro partner Giovanni Pernice's "militant" approach to training.

A BBC statement last night gave little away, saying: "Amanda is unable to continue in Strictly Come Dancing and has decided to withdraw from the competition.

"The show wishes her all the best for the future.

Announcing her departure on It Takes Two, host Fleur East said simply: "Amanda, we are sending you all of our love."

The actress, 49, had been given a bye after she pulled out on Friday, citing medical reasons.
