MILLIONS of people will hear a loud alarm from their mobile phones when an "armageddon" alert is trialled.
The UK-wide Emergency Alert system will be tested on Sunday, April 23, at 3pm, with a message that warns of danger to life.
Messages will be sent out to 4G and 5G mobile phones, along with a piercing sound and vibration for up to 10 seconds.
People don't need to do anything when the alert happens except swipe the message away or click OK on their home screen.
