LEIGHTON CLARKSON knows it is vital Aberdeen fend off interest in Bojan Miovski when the transfer window reopens.
The on-form Macedonian has been the go-to guy for the Dons in the first part of the season with an impressive 14 goals.
The striker is just four behind his haul for last season and Clarkson knows there will be strong interest in his goalhungry team-mate but believes it is imperative Aberdeen keep him in their charge to get back into third place and Europe.
Clarkson said: "It's very important. He has pulled us out of a lot of games this year and he's a top-quality striker.
"I would love him to stay and I know the rest of the team and the fans do as well.
"Yes, definitely. In terms of the numbers he has so far - 14 goals - is very good and we've not been playing at our best as well.
"He scores lots of goals and I have a good connection on the pitch in terms of his movement.
"His movement is excellent.
