A GOLDEN eagle project is celebrating after seeing the number of birds rise to the highest in 300 years.
Experts at the scheme have revealed eight more chicks were successfully moved from other parts of the country to a secret location in the south of Scotland.
The total number of golden eagles in the area is about 46 the highest number recorded in the area for three centuries and more than quadruple previous counts.
