Eco campaigners said the SNP-Green government must "bite the bullet" and fully commit to ending oil and gas if they hope to meet Scotland's climate targets.
Friends of the Earth Scotland made the call as a consultation on the Government's draft Energy Strategy and Just Transition plan officially closes today.
It would see Holyrood adopt a "presumption against" new oil and gas projects and support an "acceleration" away from fossil fuels towards green energy sources.
