HEATWAVE HITS HOLIDAY PLANS

BRITISH holidaymakers are reviewing travel plans as the Cerberus heatwave brings blistering temperatures to Euro destinations.

Authorities have issued heat alerts across Italy, Spain and Greece this week.

Temperatures could hit 40C in Rome today and even 43C tomorrow, smashing the record of 40.5C set in August 2007.

Meanwhile in the islands of Sicily and Sardinia the mercury could top 48C, the European Space Agency warned.

This highest temperature ever recorded in Europe was 48C in Sicily in August 2021.
