SALMOND'S WARNING TO SNP | Ex-leader tells Yousaf that he risks battering at ballot boxes next year

SNP MPs are in "imminent danger" of losing their seats at the general election, Alex Salmond has said.

The former first minister spoke out ahead of a convention in Dundee today that will see nationalists debate the party's independence strategy.

But Salmond said Humza Yousaf must first "substantially change the narrative" or risk a poll battering next year.

It comes after a series of polls showed the SNP's lead in Westminster voting intentions has dropped while Labour is gaining ground.

Salmond described a recent series of Scottish Government papers on independence as "worthy" but not enough to focus the minds of voters.
