Judy, who coached the three-times Grand Slam-winning legend, insists the time is right for the 37-year-old to hang the racquet up at the Olympics after battling injury setbacks for years.
And as she paid a glowing tribute to the former world Nol, she urged the authorities to ensure his legacy is not wasted.
Speaking to the Record at Roland Garros - where Andy and Dan Evans pulled off a stunning comeback to defeat Japanese pair Kei Nishikori and Taro Daniel last night, and delay Murray's retirement for at least one more match Judy said the star "has the rest of his life to look forward to".
She said: "Andy knows it's the right time for him.
"His body won't let him do what he needs to do now. He has made the decision that he's stopping "If it's the right one for him that's great. It's been a long and hugely successful career and he has the rest of his life to look forward to - and so do we.
"Everyone can see from the reaction from the fans and his peers and everyone who has been involved in tennis that he will be hugely missed on the tour.
"He has been a voice of reason not just for the male players but the female players as well in lots of situations.
"He has changed the face of British tennis, he gave it credibility and has provided enormous inspiration and belief to the young players who are coming through.
