THE family of a teenage girl raped and murdered almost 42 years ago have blocked a request for her remains to be exhumed.
Pamela Hastie, 16, was killed in woods close to her home in Johnstone, Renfrewshire, as she was walking home from school on November 4, 1981.
Raymond Gilmour, then 19, who lived nearby, was tried and convicted of the murder in 1982. But appeal judges later accepted expert evidence that he was bullied into making a confession by detectives.
