A DAD scaled Ben Nevis carrying a 100kg barbell and raised a hefty £13,000 for research into motor neurone disease.

David Dooher began his hike up Britain's highest mountain at 7pm on Wednesday - his 38th birthday - and reached the 4413ft summit yesterday afternoon.

He took on the challenge for the My Name'5 Doddie Foundation, launched in 2017 by ex-Scotland rugby star Doddie Weir, who died in November, aged 52, after a six-year battle with the disease.
