STEPHEN ROBINSON hopes St Mirren have some immunity to Motherwell's famed late sucker punch.

Today's visitors to Paisley have specialised in stoppage-time strikes.

They've plundered goals at the death all season and on each of the last three Saturdays earned a point thanks to scoring in 90 minutes or after.

Champions Celtic are among the victims but stubborn St Mirren have refused to wilt.

A 1-0 lead has stayed an advantage for Saints in the two clashes against Stuart Kettlewell's side.

Caolan Boyd-Munce's ninth-minute strike settled a Viaplay Cup tie and a Scott Tanser volley pinched all three points in September.

Buddies boss Robinson said: "We're a hard team to beat when we score first so that's the ultimate goal.

In this league, if you take the lead stats show that you win a lot of games and gain a lot of points from it.
