PAUL Gascoigne had no worries about spending eight days in the pitch black for a new TV series.
Because he's put himself through more than it could throw at him. The 55-year-old former Rangers star had a well-documented problem with booze addiction, has bipolar disorder and suffered from obsessive compulsive disorder and bulimia.
So new Channel 4 reality show Scared of the Dark, which sees him and stars including Scarlett Moffatt and Max George living in The Bunker should be an open goal.
Before going in he said: "I'm not scared of anything, because of what I've been through in my life... People keep saying, 'You've got more lives than a cat. That's because I have. I've had near death experiences, 36 operations, I've died a couple of times, and they've put me in a coma for 18 days.
"So I've come through all that, so hopefully this'll be a little bit easier than what I've put myself through." Although asked to do all the reality shows, Scared of the Dark isn't the first one he's done. In 2021 he did the Italian version of I'm a Celebrity although he had to quit after 38 days because of a dislocated shoulder.
He spent his time on a Caribbean island sunbathing naked Scared of the Dark will be tougher. There are already claims he and former boxer Chris Eubank, 56 came to blows and had to be separated.
Chris reportedly quit the show halfway through.
Gazza has always been known as a practical joker - he once hid fish in Gordon Durie's car while playing for Rangers in the 90s.
Gazza revealed: "I can only be myself. I'm not a sad person. I always look forward to every day.
