A FORMER Scotland football star ruled to be a rapist in a civil case has seen a move to Australia collapse after a furious reaction from his new club's fans.
David Goodwillie was about to join Sorrento FC but the contract was cancelled after the signing was announced on the club's Facebook page.
The semi-pro team, based near Perth in Western Australia, are managed by ex-St Mirren and Motherwell player Steven McGarry.
A statement said: "After discussions with the club, Sorrento FC have since confirmed that they will not be continuing with the signing."
