ISRAELI airstrikes killed dozens more in the besieged Gaza city of Rafah in another "night of horror".
Many victims of the overnight strikes on Tuesday were sheltering in tents outside the city, near the site of a deadly fire caused by Israeli rockets, which killed 45 people on Sunday.
Emergency workers and hospital officials said the latest strikes killed at least 37 Palestinians.
Shelling of the Tel al-Sultan district claimed 16 lives, while 21 died, including 13 women, in a drone strike on tents near a hospital.
Abdel-Rahman Abu Ismail, from Gaza City, who has been sheltering in Tel al-Sultan since December, said: "It was a night of horror."
He described hearing "constant sounds" of explosions overnight.
