SCHOOL DANGER CONCRETE FORCES KIDS OUT OF CLASS

MORE than 1000 pupils have been forced out of their classrooms after dangerous concrete was found in Scottish schools.

One council area is facing a staggering bill of more than £50million to repair five schools and three community centres made from the defective material.

Some children are being given lessons in specially erected "temporary classrooms", while other high school pupils are being taught in their old primary schools, community centres and sports centres.

One school has 23 classrooms currently out of bounds to pupils after reinforced autoclaved aerated concrete (Raac), which is prone to collapse when wet, was found in the building.
