A SCOT has been arrested over claims he spied for China while working as a researcher in the House of Commons.
The Edinburgh man, in his 20s, was held under the Official Secrets Act.
The move came as Prime Minister Rishi Sunak yesterday confronted China's premier over his country's "unacceptable" interference in British democracy.

A SCOT is at the centre of a Chinese spy scandal after being arrested while working as a researcher at Westminster.
The man in his 20s was arrested under the Official Secrets Act amid allegations of spying on behalf of Beijing while working at the House of Commons.
Now the Daily Record can reveal that the man arrested is a rugby fan from Edinburgh, educated at a private school in the capital and at a university in Scotland.
It's understood he worked as a researcher at Westminster due to his knowledge of Chinese affairs and had links to a group of Tory MPs.
Rishi Sunak yesterday confronted China's No2 over his country's "unacceptable" interference in British democracy after the arrest.
The Prime Minister raised his concerns with premier Li Qiang at the G20 summit in India.
