PHILLIP Schofield was hailed “one of Britain’s best live TV broadcasters” by Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary yesterday.
The pair hosted the first episode of This Morning since Phillip announced on Saturday he was quitting the ITV talk show with “immediate effect” after 21 years.
Holly Willoughby, who has hosted alongside Schofield since 2009, will stay on but is taking an early half-term holiday.
Alison and Dermot filled in on the show yesterday, with Alison opening it by saying: “We can’t start today’s show without paying tribute to the man who spent the last two decades sitting on the This Morning sofa.”
