MSP attacks party boss after backing contoversial Rosebank

A SENIOR Labour MSP has accused Sir Keir Starmer of failing "climate over the to provide leadership" Rosebank oil field.

Monica Lennon said the Labour leader must show "courage" by promising to tear up the contract if he becomes Prime Minister.

Tory PM Rishi Sunak caused fury after his government announced its support for the new North Sea field which contains up to 350 million barrels of oil.

Fossil fuels are driving climate change and politicians including First Minister Humza Yousaf criticised the decision.

Starmer has said a Labour Government would not support new licenses, but would respect existing contracts. This would mean Rosebank continuing if it was pushed through before the general election.
