STELLA McCartney and her husband have broken their silence over objections to their plans to build a modern house on a remote Highland plot.
Proposals for a secluded hideaway at Commando Rock in Glenuig have sparked criticisms, with some labelling it a carbuncle.
The application for the home, in the Moidart peninsula, is in the name of McCartney's husband, Alasdhair Willis, 43, creative director of footwear brand Hunter.
Architects Brown and Brown said the plan was to create an "unashamedly contemporary" but complementary addition to the area.
However, dozens of objections have been lodged with Highland Council, including fears over the impact on trees and a possible otter population.
