TORY MP Crispin Blunt has been arrested over an allegation of rape and possession of drugs.
The politician has had the party whip suspended pending the outcome of the police investigation, and has been asked to stay away from Parliament.
Mr Blunt, 63, last night confirmed in a statement he was arrested on Wednesday “in connection with an allegation of rape”.
He said he was then interviewed yesterday morning under caution.
Mr Blunt explained it had been the second time he had been quizzed about the incident.
The first was three weeks ago when he reported concerns of blackmail.
