SCOTS track legend Liz McColgan has shared the heartbreaking news of her husband John Nuttall's sudden death at 56.
The Dundee athlete told fans on Instagram yesterday that John had tragically passed away after suffering a heart attack on Thursday morning in Qatar.
The 59-year-old paid tribute to him as a "much-loved dad, son, brother and husband" as friends from the sporting world rushed to send their condolences, as well as fans.
Devastated Liz said: "It is with great sadness and a heavy heart I write this.
"My husband John Nuttall died yesterday morning with a sudden heart attack.
"A much-loved dad, son, brother and husband. For those that loved John our hearts are breaking.
