THE family of a student who took her own life have launched a landmark legal case to sue the man convicted of abusing her.
Emily Drouet, 18, committed suicide at New Carnegie Court halls of residence in Aberdeen in 2016 after being subjected to a campaign of abuse by Angus Milligan.
Milligan was given a 12-month supervision order and 120 hours’ community service after admitting assaulting and abusing Emily.
However, a separate civil case, which comes under “loss of society” law, has now been brought by her family.
