ARNE'S Slot machine has paid instant dividends.

And while Liverpool missed out on the ultimate jackpot, cashing in on the title is still a stunning achievement at the first time of asking for Slot.

It took Jurgen Klopp four seasons to land his one Premier League crown as Liverpool boss.

That triumph will always be revered on Merseyside as truly special because it ended the club's 30-year wait to be crowned English champions again.

But it has taken Slot just nine months to claim the same prize.

The king is dead - long live the king.

At one stage this season Liverpool were in the hunt for a Quadruple.

That bid failed in the end. They always do.

But top-class managers will always claim that a domestic title is the most cherished prize of all.

And Liverpool have been fully deserving of the trophy this season, due to being the best and most consistent team.

Slot can count himself fortunate in some regards.
