TD makes call after disturbing findings published in report

GROOMING of young girls in State care must be thoroughly investigated following the publication of a damning report, a TD has said.

Sinn Fein's Kathleen Funchion has called on health and social care body HIQA and family and child body Tulsa to launch a full investigation after the findings were made public.

The TD, who is also the party's spokesperson on children, spoke after the Protecting Against Predators report found older men have targeted vulnerable young girls in Sate care homes.
