LIST OFF

A FAMILY fear they will be left homeless after being struck off the social housing list they’ve been on for 13 years for earning €7,000 over the threshold.

Denis Murphy and Charlene O’Keefe, from Walkinstown in south Dublin, exceeded the combined earnings threshold of €43,000 just once but had an offer of a home revoked by South Dublin County Council.

The couple’s earnings are now back below the threshold for a couple with one child – but they’ve been put back on the SDCC housing list along with 6,033 other applicants.

They told how they had cried with joy when they were granted a two-bed house in CityWest after waiting for 13 years.
