ISRAEL’S assassination of Hamas boss Ismail Haniyeh aimed to show Iran its Supreme Leader is always “vulnerable”, experts say.
Tensions remained high last night as the world waited to see whether Iran would launch a retaliatory attack on Israel, risking all-out war.
A key architect of the October 7 atrocities which killed 1,200 Israelis, Haniyeh, 62, is said to have been killed in a high-security zone in outer Tehran, three miles from the residence of Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei – whom he had just met.
