Ceri and Frances Menai-Davis lost their six-year-old son, Hugh, pictured, to a rare cancer in 2021.
They are now hoping to secure a "fitting tribute" to his memory by winning help for those facing the same trauma.
Mr Menai-Davis, 40, said costs such as hotel stays and transport can mean parents have to find an extra £1,000 a month.
This week their MP wants to introduce legislation requiring the Health Secretary to make a report on the merits of providing cash support.
