Social media giants told to tackle abuse of women

SOCIAL media giants have been challenged to stamp out misogynistic online attacks on women in sport.
Sports and Equalities Minister Stuart Andrew has told Meta - the parent company of Facebook - and Elon Musk's X platform that there is "no place for sexism and misogyny".
Former England striker Eni Aluko said earlier this year that abuse had made her scared to leave home.
One in five players were attacked online during last year's Women's World Cup, according to Fifa. They were 29 per cent more likely to be targeted with abusive messages than their male counterparts in the previous year's Qatar tournament.
