|November 21, 2024
The High Court of Chhattisgarh heard public interest litigations (PILs) regarding the deteriorating roads in the state, including a suo motu petition.
-
During the hearing, the court directed the court commissioners to submit a detailed report on the condition of roads and road accidents in 28 districts. The court has given one month for the report, with the ne Xt hearing scheduled for December 17.
The bench expressed displeasure over the poor quality of repairs on national highways, noting that despite heavy traffic and toll revenue, maintenance of roads is being handled carelessly.
