PLYMOUTH City Council leader Tudor Evans has written to the Post Office to warn against the closure of a city branch which he said can be a 'lifeline' for the community.

Cllr Evans said the closure of the Post Office at Mutley Plain threatens to leave many residents without easy access to essential postal and banking services. At the last full council meeting, the Council unanimously agreed a Motion on Notice - put forward by Councillor Angela Penrose - establishing the Council's dismay at the Post Office plans to shut the branch.
