Drink-driver jailed for death of motorcyclist

A PLYMOUTH man has been jailed after admitting to causing death by careless driving whilst over the drink-drive limit.
Drink-driver jailed for death of motorcyclist

Stuart Lithgow, 43, formerly of Frizington in Cumbria, but now of Saltash Road in Keyham, collided with motorcyclist Raymond Hammil on a 'B' road - the B5300 -near Maryport Golf Club in Cumbria on September 11, 2022.

Mr Hammil, 75, suffered severe injuries in the collision and was airlifted to hospital. He died on 14 September 2022, three days after the collision.

After undergoing a roadside breath test at the scene, police found Lithgow was at more than twice the legal limit for alcohol.
