'Persistent' offender is jailed over latest thefts

POLICE have urged the public and shopkeepers to alert them to incidents of shoplifting after a “persistent” offender was jailed for a series of thefts from stores across the city.

Davidde Dale appeared at Plymouth Magistrates’ Court on August 21 where he pleaded guilty to a series of offences during June, July and August.

The 45-year-old, from Marlborough Street, Plymouth admitted stealing two cameras and one set of headphones worth a total of £58 belonging to B&M store at Coypool Road on June 12.

On the same day he stole an Apollo 2 tablet worth £120 from HBH Woolacott, also on Coypool Road. A few days later on June 20 he stole a pair of £99.99 headphones from the HMV store on Cornwall Street.
