DARREN BELIEVES WE CAN ALL BE A CUT ABOVE...
A FREE thinking Plymouth Reverend who's held hands with dying patients in Africa and danced in the West End show Cats has said everyone has the ability to be incredible.
The inspirational reverend, who was also a Padre in the army, also believes that God is beyond gender.
Reverend Darren Middleton describes himself as a "bit of a Barbie" due to his long list of successful careers. Recently he's been liberated from the church, to follow a new post as a hairdresser at a community salon on Mutley Plain, but he's still looking after four churches in the city. The spiritual 51-year-old who's seen people at their most desperate, wants to reach out to the needs of communities. He said God speaks to individuals through unexpected things - adding God is not a man sat on a cloud, but something more intangible.
He said: "In my life, I've seen people at their most desperate. I believe that every individual matters, whether they believe in God or not.
It's about walking alongside people.
